2009 Fashionista Christmas lunch

Lucky us got to see everyone’s favourite young couture designer, Leigh Buchanan, showcase his collection from Project Runway up close and personal at the 2009 Fashionista Christmas lunch. Especially loved the story behind each piece, live photoshoot, and hilarious commentary throughout the parade. Very beautiful use of colour to.. have a look at the rich green and maroon he has used.Very fun afternoon..

Swim fashion week is coming!!!!!!!!!!!!

YAY YAY YAY! We are SO excited Swim Fashion Week is on its way to the Gold Coast again. This is the event that declares "Summer is here!" to fashion lovers across Queensland. We will be sure to keep you updated on all the LOVELY parades when we head down in February.

Sass and Bide Crazy

Did anyone else to get the Sass and Bide warehouse sale? Based on the Brisbane sale held at the RNA Showgrounds, there was a lot of drab last season denim, but also a few newer pieces such as the wet look black skinnies, black rats, and dresses. A little tip- get in on the first day before the good stuff goes, or if it is a basic pair of jeans you are after, wait until the last day when prices are slashed down to as little as $30.00... not bad S & B.. not bad.

Our summer love this season is statement jewelery. Particularly eye catching are the latest design from Dolly Rockers... stunning.

Victoria's Secret Fashion Parade

Every true fashionista watched the Victoria’s Secret angels descend upon Miami Beach over the weekend to flaunt the next season’s fashion in women’s lingerie- and we are no exception!

What can we say- as usual Aussie beauties Miranda Kerr and Heidi Klum absolutely stole the show, glittering down the catwalk. Some models, such as Adriana Lima, were draped in Swarovski crystals, diamonds, rubies and other precious jewels- what a job!

The fantastic Tia Carrigan showed her stellar Spring/Summer 09/10 collection at Brisbane Fashion Week on Wednesday.

The collection consisted of beautiful vibrant summer colours and natural materials with interesting draping and cuts.

The models walked to the likes of Joss Stone and truly showed off the young designers amazing collection.

Tuesday brings all the excitement of the 3rd day of Brisbane Fashion Week! After launching on Sunday with a fabulous array of the best in swimwear, Brisbane is on a roll and showing the rest of the world that we too are contenders in the fashion stakes.

Some of our KAW girls attended this mornings V Australia Fashion Forum Breakfast, hosted by the lovely Melissa Hoyer. The forum was dedicated to showcasing and discussing key tips to successful development of brands for trend driven markets.

Guest speakers saw the likes of Vogues Kirstie Clements, Australian renowned fashion model Kristy Hinze and the makeup guru Napoleon Perdis take to the stage and share their very own trend secrets with the star studded room.

Designers and celebrities plus PR hot shots rubbed shoulders and donned fabulous heels for coffee and breakfast at the Sebel & Citygate. A great start for Day 3 of MBFF!

Spring is in the air!

Spring/Summer really and truly is in the air! Last week we packed up the office heels and donned our fedoras & ray bans to head out on location for Tia Carrigan's Spring/Summer Insection shoot.

After hunting down the most incredible location - an antique run down field of beautiful pieces sourced from EGYPT right here in the valley, we settled in to what we thought we be a long long shoot.

Luckily we were working with the creative genius that is Chih-Han Hsu who shifted us into gear, delivering some incredible, intricate shots. The new look book looks STELLAR!

Word is out that the hottest party for Brisbane 2009 will be All Brisbane Realty's Themed charity gala. The event is themed everything BOND, and anything goes, from black tie to an Ursula bikini, complete with furs and guns of course!

Those in the know have already got their exclusive Bond invitations and have secured fabulous designer dresses. The event host tells me she will be wearing a tailor made amazing Australian designer dress and is set to wow the red carpet with designer jewellery and shoes from local designers.

All I can say is what a fantastic weekend it has been!
